As our current designer collection originates from Cape Town, South Africa, we are running a campaign to support local efforts there.

For every $100 you spend, $2 will be directly donated to the Emasithandane Children’s Project,
a non-profit organization in Nyanga, one of Cape Town’s largest townships.

Nyanga, which means moon, is of one of the oldest and largest townships in Cape Town.  It is made up mostly of informal settlements and with a 70% unemployment rate, almost all families of this community live below the poverty line.  At the core of this township, lives Mama Maposela, with a heart as big as Africa.  With a background in community development and as a community leader of health programs centered around tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS, Mama Maposela has cared for many people who have lost their battles to these diseases. Since 1994, she has provided a loving, safe haven for children who have lost their parents to such illnesses and since that time has taken under her wing and into her home 25 orphaned and vulnerable children from her community.  With the help of several other women volunteers, she has also created a community kitchen and daycare center for an additional 25 children.

Proceeds collected through our campaign will go directly into helping to pay for necessity items from this organization’s wish list.
